Winfree leads Eastside over Dibrell, 40-19

Sarah Kate Winfree scored 24 points for the Eastside Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday night.

Sarah Kate Winfree proved she was the most dominant player in the girls 5-6 grade elementary basketball league.

She might be the most dominant player in the 7-8 grade league too.

Winfree scored a game-high 24 points to lift Eastside to a 40-19 victory over Dibrell on Tuesday night in the second round of the Morrison Ruritan Tournament.

Maddox Adams led Dibrell with 5 points.

Winfree did most of her damage in the opening half when she scored an eye-popping 19 points. Winfree did her impression of the movie “Groundhog Day.” Every time she touched the ball she was scoring again.

Eastside was up 27-7 at halftime and was able to activate cruise control in the second half.
