The 6th grade WCMS Lady Pioneer basketball team played a tough Coffee County team Tuesday night in McMinnville. Four members of the Lady Pioneer team were not able to play, including one starter.
Yet, Warren County pulled out a close win over Coffee County, 28-24. It was sweet revenge for the Lady Pioneers, who lost to Coffee County last week in their first game of the season.
Maci McBride was the top score for the Lady Pioneers with 14 points. WCMS coach Leann Morrison made adjustments at halftime. Morrison said, “I knew we had to shut down No. 4 and No. 10. I was really proud of the team. This group of girls listen, and they apply instruction really quickly.”
