For a night, the WCMS soccer team looked as dominant as ever.

The Pioneers concluded the regular season with a 9-0 victory Monday against White County, earning a home game to start the CTC tournament in the process.

Kevin Martinez scored four goals in the victory, while Abram Stinson netted two in the first half. Yehoshua PicRuiz, Will Davis and Gabe Morin all scored in the second half.

For years, the Pioneers have dominated CTC opponents. Warren County won five straight conference championships before being unseated last spring.

This season had been a struggle, but Warren County may be flipping the switch at the perfect time.

White County had no answer for Martinez, who locked up his hat trick with back-to-back goals in the second half. Martinez scored his third and fourth goals just one minute apart, giving his team a 6-0 lead in the second half.

PicRuiz followed with a score, chipping a shot over the keeper from outside the box.

Davis, usually used on defense, got in on the action late following a corner kick. The 6-foot-5 Pioneer drilled a loose ball into the back of the net.

Morin concluded the scoring with a penalty kick before the final whistle.

Warren County will get a chance to keep the momentum when it plays Franklin North at home Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
