The Adam Wood era began Monday at Warren County Middle School and the first-year head coach has one mission as spring practice starts.Coach Wood simply wants more players as he begins to replace a number of playmakers who helped the WCMS Pioneers win six games last season, including a bowl victory over Smith County.“We’re still welcoming players to come out and be a part of our football program,” said Wood. “We’re doing workouts this week, then we’ll be in full pads starting Monday.”Coach Wood takes over this season for Greg Cotten, who moved up to Warren County High School to coach linemen. Cotten leaves a legacy of winning at WCMS as he departed as the all-time wins leader at the school.
