Make it three in a row for the Warren County Middle School boys.
The Pioneers continued their winning ways Thursday night, downing visiting White County 40-30 to improve to 8-3 this season.
Treyton Terry finished with 14 points and Isaiah Cummings added 10 as Warren County continued its ascension in the CTC standings. The Pioneers are 7-2 in conference games, with their two losses coming by a combined three points.
The Pioneers went into the fourth quarter leading 28-24, but Terry made sure the team extended its lead late. The fiery point guard forced the action, with his forays to the rim leading to layups or free throws.
Terry finished with seven points in the final quarter, while White County could only muster six as a team. Warren County’s ferocious defense, led by Jonathan Lara’s pressure, helped seal the victory.
Baylor Melton added nine points, doing his best work in the clutch. He calmly buried 4-of-4 from the charity stripe late to preserve the Pioneer victory.
Dyson Elam added four points, while Lara finished with three.
The Pioneers will get a chance to avenge one of their conference losses Monday when the team travels to Tullahoma West for a matchup. The Bobcats beat Warren County 46-44 on Nov. 4 when Terry and Elam both were sitting out.
Monday’s matchup is scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
