The Warren County High School tennis teams gathered one last time at McMinnville Civic Center this season so coach David Dunlap could shower his team with praise after a successful season.The boys tennis team repeated as District 6-AAA regular season and tournament champions, while the Lady Pioneers made strides in district play this season, winning three matches.Because of the success of the Pioneers, coach Dunlap had a number of All-District 6-AAA awards to hand out. Five of his six singles players received all-district recognition, beginning with top-seeded junior Seth Grissom.Grissom and sophomore Shunsuke Nakashima took turns playing No. 1 singles matches for Warren County this season and Grissom finished with an impressive 14-2 record and won the individual District 6-AAA tournament in singles.Nakashima was also awarded all-district in singles, along with teammates Thomas Locke, Bryce Caten and Will Marttala.Nakashima, Locke and Marttala carried the distinction of being named All-District 6-AAA in both singles and doubles.
