The Warren County High School softball team was able to bounce back from Tuesday’s 11-1 loss at Columbia when it returned home Thursday evening.
Taking on Spring Hill, the Lady Pioneers did not give up a run on the way to a 15-0, three-inning shutout win in McMinnville. Warren County finished the game with 11 hits, with two each for Brooke Wilson, Lola Wells, Ceilee Gudat and Ali Young. Ky Damon, Addison Smith and Kyaira Sharpe all added one hit each.
The team recorded 15 RBI, led by Wilson and Wells with four each. Smith followed with three RBI. Up next was Gudat with two. Damon and Young both had one RBI each.
Gudat pitched all three innings, striking out seven and holding Spring Hill to one hit.
Pioneers take down Stone
The Warren County baseball team similarly got back in the win column Thursday night, bouncing back from Tuesday’s 4-2 road loss to Spring Hill with a 9-3 victory at Stone.
The Pioneers came away with 13 hits, including two each for Tyler Adams, Sam Robinson, Hayven Jones, Jerren Harris and Brady Norris. Ryder Gilispie, Woogs Bryan and Adrian Harris each added one hit.
Norris was credited with three of the team’s seven RBI. Adams, Gilispie, Jerren Harris and Adrian Harris each added one.
On the mound, Jones pitched the first three innings and came off with one strikeout, three hits, three runs and five walks.
Keaton Rowe went on to close it out, finishing the game with three more strikeouts and three more hits.
