When Greg Cotten began making a push for a freshman team last fall, it was in hopes of improving the future of Warren County football. Those future Pioneers were on full display Thursday night.The Warren County freshman football team ended its five-game season with a 40-6 thrashing of Tullahoma at Nunley Stadium.The Pioneers had to go through some growing pains during the year, including four straight losses, but it all paid off when the team took its frustration out on the Wildcats.Warren County built a 20-0 halftime lead and led by 40 before Tullahoma sneaked in a late score to break up the shutout.Coach Cotten believed the game was Warren County’s to win from the opening whistle and his team set the tone with physical play and winning the field-position battle.“I felt like we controlled the game from the beginning,” said Cotten. “Our special teams pinned them deep and our defense was hitting hard.
