The Warren County High School soccer team has waited almost a month to play in front of a supportive crowd, but the Webb Feet spoiled the homecoming. The Feet scored three straight goals to start the second half and held off the Pioneers to win 3-2.Warren County (2-6-2) hadn’t played at home since March 20 and had to wait an extra week for Webb to arrive in McMinnville. An April 5 home game was rained out and rescheduled for Thursday night, when the Pioneers finally took the field in front of their fans.It looked like Warren County was going to give the crowd plenty to cheer about when the Pioneers took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but the Feet scored three goals in the second half to steal the game.Coach Todd Willmore thought the intensity waned after halftime and his team let the Feet hang around too long.“The score before halftime gave us a little momentum,” said Willmore. “We were a little flat to start the second half and Webb made several good transitions which created their scoring opportunities.“We need to learn how to put opponents away when we have the opportunity and quit letting them hang around.”Warren County took the lead with 16 minutes left in the first half when Jesus Gonzalez got an isolated opportunity against the Webb keeper.Gonzalez shot low, but the keeper made a diving stop to keep the ball out of the goal momentarily. The carom went right back to Gonzalez and the senior didn’t miss a second time.
