Warriors whip Broncos

The Centertown Warriors continued their solid play of late in the 5-6 grade elementary boys league with another win against Boyd Monday.The Warriors won for the third time in four games as they went on the road and beat the Broncos 38-23 at J.K. Stanley Gymnasium.Centertown started the season slowly, losing three of its first four games to fall near the bottom of the elementary standings. Since schools returned from fall break though, the Warriors have been on a roll led by guards Brant Young and Damian Thomas.Young continued his strong season with 12 points against the Broncos Monday, while Thomas joined Young in double figures with 10 points for Centertown.Young and Thomas caught fire in the second period as Centertown was able to build a big lead. Young scored four points in the second quarter, matching his production from the first quarter.Thomas exploded for eight points in the period, getting most of his baskets near the rim as the Boyd defense was unable to contain the slashing guard.
