Looking to continue a run of consecutive regional-tournament appearances, coach Franklin Fisher selected 18 players following last week’s tryouts to fill his varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams.Led by six seniors, the Warren County High School volleyball team will be trying to extend its streak of regional appearances.Karaline Deaton, Megan Dishman, Blair Fisher, Kaitlin Lawrence, Caroline McKinley and Emily Newman will have be making a run at history as the senior class could top the 100-win mark with another successful season.Dishman, Fisher, Lawrence and McKinley return for their senior years after receiving All-District 6-AAA recognition last season. The seniors have been a part of the last two teams that have combined to win over 60 games. Keeping up a 30-win pace would put the six seniors in rare company, but coach Fisher is just hoping his team continues to play with the positive attitude of recent years.“The potential of this team, as in other teams we’ve had, will be reached based on the chemistry we develop over summer workouts and through the season,” said Fisher. “Our main plan is to enjoy playing the sport to the best of our ability.”Joining the six seniors on the varsity roster are juniors Kayla Brown, Kelsey Lawrence, MacKenzie Magness and Lauren Wilson. With the loss of three seniors last season, coach Fisher is hopeful people will step up to fill holes.“It’s always tough to replace departing seniors,” said Fisher.
