Triple C Nursery pulled out a close win over Dr. Franson Orthopedics on Thursday in continuing girls 7-9 youth league tournament action with a 11-8 victory on Hoover-Milraney Field.Both teams started well offensively as Triple C, with first ups, scored 2 runs after Jenna Patrick and Kennedy Scott crossed home for the 2-0 early lead. Dr. Franson came right back at them however, as Kayden Gipson and Ariana Luna scored 2 for the Doctor tying things up 2-2.Dr. Franson Orthopedics rallied in the bottom of the second after holding Triple C to no runs, as Allie Young, Gipson, Luna, Maci McBride and Ellie Kagte Ayers all tacked on runs for the 7-2 lead.Triple C Nursery wasn’t going to let Dr. Franson’s rally to plant negative thoughts in their heads though, as they came back in the third with Kennedy Scott, Culwell and Stella Dunn adding 3 in three and Amaya Martin, Scott and Culwell adding 3 more runs in the fourth, making it an 8-7 contest as they held Franson scoreless for two innings.With Dr. Franson struggling on offense, Mac McBride would tack one run on in the fifth to tie the game, 8-8.Triple C Nursery ended strong though as Patrick, Martin and Culwell all scored in the sixth for an 11-8 lead, then held Dr. Franson to no runs to end the game.
