Track team takes win

It only took two meets for Amy Baird to earn her first career victory as Warren County High School track coach. Baird watched Tuesday as her Pioneer squad proved to be the best of seven teams competing in the King of the Mountain event held at Stone Memorial High School.Powered by 12 top-three finishes in 17 events – including three by Marcus Strode – the Pioneers tallied 155 points at the event, three more than second place Wilson Central and 30 points ahead of the host school as the Panthers placed third.Strode was a standout in hurdles - where he finished second - and in the long jump and high jump. With a distance of 17 feet, 11 inches, Strode took home third in the long jump.
