Patterson stays busy with summer events

Just getting to play golf is a blessing to Brett Patterson this summer. Competing against the best amateurs in the world is icing on the cake.Patterson, a WCHS graduate and member of the Middle Tennessee State University golf team, is back on the golf course after having to redshirt his junior season due to surgery.Patterson has returned to form this summer and showed off skill that made him one of the top amateur players in the country in 2011 - the year he played in the U.S. Open after winning a qualifying tournament the same summer.In 2011, Patterson also played in the Public Links Invitational and U.S. Amateur Open. He just finished playing the same tournaments recently.Patterson competed in the U.S. Amateur Open last week, one of three big tournaments the former Pioneer has played this summer as he has gotten back into the swing of things on the golf course.Patterson played the first two days at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. last week where he finished 9-over after two rounds of 18 holes.
