The WCHS girls basketball team is off to a 5-0 start for the second year in a row.The Lady Pioneers had an easy time handling Franklin County on Monday night, winning 57-36 in their home opener at Charlie Dalton Gym.Warren County jumped ahead early, held a comfortable 24-12 lead at the half, and was never seriously challenged by Franklin County in the second half.Elsa Eckenrod led the Lady Pioneers with 14 points, followed by sharp-shooting guard Brittany Myers with 12.The Warren County girls jumped out to a 5-0 start last year, but suffered their first loss to Franklin County. If this year’s game against Franklin County is any measuring stick, the Lady Pioneers are much improved under first-year coach Shea Panter.Behind nine first-half points from Eckenrod, the Lady Pioneers seized control early. Rebounding for Warren County was key and hitting the outlet passes.
