Want to know who the next sports stars will be in the spring? Wonder how coaches think their teams will fare in district competition?Don’t worry, the Southern Standard has it covered. In the two weeks leading up to the start of spring sports season on Monday, March 11, each spring sports team will get their spotlight.The previews began Friday with the Warren County High School and Warren County Middle School baseball teams and continued today with the WCHS and WCMS boys soccer squads.Softball, tennis and track will also be covered as the beginning of the season quickly approaches.Schedules will be included with each story, which will focus on the current team’s players along with thoughts from the coaches.The WCMS baseball team gets an early start as it plays its first home game Tuesday, March 5 against Harris Middle School at 5:30 p.m.The first high school home games of the season will be Tuesday, March 12 as the WCHS baseball, softball and tennis teams will all be in action.The Southern Standard spring sports tab, featuring pictures of all the sports teams, is scheduled for release on Friday, March 22.
