McMinnville Youth Basketball registration

McMinnville Youth Basketball registration began Tuesday, Sept. 4. The registration fee is $35 per player for boys ages 8-18 and girls ages 8-19. A $5 discount is available for families registering more than two children.

Registration will be held at McMinnville Civic Center from Sept. 4 until Sept. 29. Registration is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The season will begin Nov. 10.

Youth cheerleading camp

Children in grades 1-8 are invited to spend the day with the WCHS competition and football cheerleaders Saturday, Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Charlie Dalton Gym. Participants will be assigned to cheerleaders to customize a short sideline and halftime cheer with stunts and signs. A parent performance will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Early registration (due Monday, Sept. 17) is $40. Walk-in registration is $45.

Teams are also encouraged to participate. Each cheer team will need to provide their signs. Team will be contacted before the event so the cheer can be tailored to their team. Team should dress in outfits for the camp.

The cost is $10 per team member (if registering as a team) and an additional $10 per team for a clinic shirt. Admission for the parent performance is $2.

Glenn Ayers golf tournament

The Glenn Ayers fishing scholarship golf tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 at Willowbrook Golf Course. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. The tournament is open to four-person teams at a cost of $125 per person. There will be two teams per hole, with groups picked at random. The entry fee includes lunch and registration for cash prizes.
