Softball was so much fun in the spring at Morrison that the league doesn't want to wait another year to turn on the lights. Morrison Ruritan announced plans this week to have a fall league, with registration starting tomorrow.

Morrison will hold signups Saturday from 3-7 p.m. at the Ruritan and will follow up with registration days on Tuesday, July 25 (5-7 p.m.) and Saturday, July 29 from 11-3 p.m. The cost is $40. Sponsorships for teams will be $200.

Ages will again range from 2-21, with kid-pitch leagues starting at age 10. There will be six co-ed leagues: Training (ages 2-3), T-ball (4-6), Coach-pitch (7-9), Youth (10-12), Junior (13-16) and Senior (17-21).

Morrison is coming off a successful spring/summer season that featured over 400 kids playing games at the ball parks. Fall league organizers are hoping to draw interest in more softball games this year, including an open invitation to players from all areas of the county to come play ball at Morrison.
