Thursday’s winter weather which ultimately forced the closure of schools in Warren County Friday also had a hand in Warren County elementary basketball games being postponed.All six elementary schools were supposed to be in action on Thursday night, but the games at Boyd, Eastside and Irving College were all called off as administrators worried about the driving conditions.The games, which would have been the third game for each boys and girls team in the league, will have to be made up at a later date and one game has already been rescheduled.Boyd, which was supposed to play host to Centertown Thursday, will now bring in the Warriors and Lady Warriors on Tuesday, Jan. 31.Irving College and Eastside are in the process of communicating with Morrison and Dibrell on make-up dates for their postponed games. The decision will be made by the school principals.After two games for each team, Dibrell and Eastside have been unbeatable.The Wildcats and Bulldogs are each 2-0 and have won each of their games by double figures.The Lady Wildcats and Lady Bulldogs are also 2-0 each and own impressive victories. Dibrell opened up its new gym with a 34-point victory over Morrison and the Lady Bulldogs were the first team to beat the Morrison Ruritan champion Boyd Lady Broncos in the regular season.Scoring hasn’t been a problem through the first week as a number of players are on pace to have great seasons.A 20-point effort in her first game gives Lady Bronco Rhiannon Hoover a early lead in the scoring title for the girls.
