There’s a new school record for the WCMS cross country team.Alec Smith set it Tuesday in Manchester at Old Stone Fort Golf Course.Smith ran the two-mile course in 12:14 to finish fifth overall during a 10-team meet. He was followed close behind by teammate Riley Bundy, who finished sixth with a time of 12:20.“Alec is so excited about getting the record,” said coach Patty Kelly.Full scoring results for the entire WCMS team were not available.WCMS will play host to its second cross country meet Sept. 20. Franklin North and Franklin South are scheduled to compete in a three-team meet.
