For years, I’ve had people ask why I don’t cover the Fairest of the Fair. Besides the obvious answers that we have much more qualified people to report on it and I’m usually at games during the pageant, there is an even more apparent reason why I never bothered. Who would think a surly guy who wears air pods in public so I don’t have to talk to people and whose wardrobe consists of basketball shorts and short-sleeve hoodies 90 percent of the time could provide additional insight for a competition focused on smiling girls and fancy dresses?
