Just when it appeared WCHS was ready to fight Cumberland County to the final buzzer, the Pioneers went ice cold from the field.A Pioneer shooting slump to end the third quarter allowed Cumberland County to rattle off 15 straight points as the Jets claimed a 65-48 victory Friday night in Crossville. The loss came despite another highlight-reel performance from Pioneer post Trace Taylor, who led all scorers with 22. Taylor has proven to be an unstoppable force in the paint.Behind Taylor’s inside play, the Pioneers held a 30-29 lead in the third quarter and looked ready to challenge the Jets down the stretch. But that’s when Warren County experienced some turbulence.A 15-0 run allowed the Jets to turn a one-point deficit into a 44-30 lead entering the fourth quarter.
