Security Federal deposits win over Dr Pepper

Security Federal and Dr Pepper faced one another in coach pitch action at Centertown Recreational Park on Thursday night. Security Federal used a four-run fifth inning to win the game, 11-9, in a thrilling contest.Lealon Arnold, Logan Gentry and Yasmin Arnold led the way in the hitting column for Security Federal as they all had three hits apiece. Addison Terrasi and Hayden Hale added two hits, while Kayden Solomon and Sophie Crabtree contributed a hit apiece.Dr Pepper was led at the plate by Raiden Hutcheson who had three hits, while Emma Dillon and Shaun Galloway added two hits apiece.Security Federal saw a couple of runners get on base in the top of the first but failed to capitalize on the opportunity as it failed to score.In the bottom of the inning, Dr Pepper took a one-run lead thanks to an RBI double by Dillon, making it 1-0 after one.Security Federal grabbed the lead quickly from Dr Pepper in the top of the second courtesy of a 2-RBI triple by Laiken Breeding and Security Federal went up 2-1 heading into the bottom of the inning.Dr Pepper took the lead back in the bottom of the inning, scoring two runs thanks to a 2-RBI double by Hayley McCoy, keeping the game a back-and-forth contest, 3-2.A 3-RBI double by Yasmin Arnold in the top of the third put Security Federal up two and that was followed by an RBI single to give Security Federal some breathing room, 6-3.Dr Pepper continued to battle back, tying the game in the bottom of the inning when Shaun Galloway hit a 3-RBI triple to cut into the Security Federal lead, 6-6, after three.After Security Federal scored a run in the top of the fourth, Dr Pepper answered in the bottom of the inning taking the lead yet again, scoring three runs heading into the final inning trailing by two, 9-7.Security Federal scored four runs in the top of the fifth, to regain the lead, 11-9, leaving Dr Pepper with one final shot to tie or win the game.Dr Pepper went down in order in the bottom of the inning as Security Federal prevailed.
