A run of success

The 2019 season was one of, if not the best, season that the Covenant Academy cross country teams have ever had. While only two of the divisions had the minimum number of runners to be considered a team, the rest of the 12 runners ran as individuals.

The K-2 girls (Austie Gannon, Addisyn Sears and McKenzie Sears) finished second in their league and Gannon finished third in the all-star race. Braxton Wingate was the only runner in the boys K-2 division; he ran a personal best of 4:30.

In the grade 3-5 division Sarah Rutherford and Abby Rogers (girls) and Dean Wingate (boys) were the runners. In the middle school division, Ayden Rogers (6th-8th boys) was the only runner and he ran a personal best of 16:04.

In the high school girls division, Emma Randall placed first in the high school girls all-star race while Caleb Stovall - competing on the high school boys team – finished first in the all-star race.

The high school boys and Randall competed in the Clarksville Christian School Victory Lap Invitational and all four runners recorded personal bests in that race. Stovall finished first with a time of 18:15.3. Teammates Vansh Patel (20:56.7) and Smit Patel (22:56.1) were close behind. Randall finished second in the high school girls division with a time of 22:17.9.

Coaches Heather Stovall (K-2 and 3-5) and Steve Gatz (6-8 and high school) did an awesome job with their runners and are looking forward to next season.
