Sina Neal and Ramirez Transport faced off for the Newtown championship last Wednesday night.Sina Neal got the better of Ramirez Transport in game one, handing it its first loss of the season, but it had to beat Ramirez Transport a second time to win the title.Ramirez Transport found its rhythm in game two as it won in three innings, claiming the league title via the run-rule, 17-4, behind solid contributions up and down the lineup at the plate.Omar Benitez led the charge in the win for Ramirez Transport as he went 2-for-3, with a double and a home run.Worm Hernandez, Josh Winfree and Jared Underwood added two hits apiece.In the loss, Zack Fisher led Sina Neal with two hits.Ramirez Transport built a four-run lead in the top of the first thanks to a three-run home run by Rodney Whiles and an RBI single, 4-0.Sina Neal went down in order in the bottom of the inning as it didn’t get anything going.Ramirez Transport extended its lead to double digits in the top of the second as it saw seven runs cross the plate courtesy of two RBI singles, a two-RBI double by Linsey Youngblood, and a three-run home run by Benitez to give it a comfortable lead, 11-0.Sina Neal finally got on the board in the bottom of the inning, when it saw two runs cross the plate but that was all it managed as it continued to trail by a wide margin, 11-2, after two.After Ramirez Transport put up six runs in the top half of the third, to make it a 15-run game, 17-2, Sina Neal was down to its last bat.Two runs came across the plate for Sina Neal in the bottom of the inning, but it wasn’t enough as it lost via the run-rule, 17-4, giving Ramirez Transport the championship.
