It seemed like a foregone conclusion going into the District 6-AAA tournament the Pioneers would walk away with their second straight championship. After returning every member from last year’s district-winning team, along with sweeping through the regular season, coach David Dunlap’s team carried the weight of being a heavy favorite to the tournament in Cookeville this week.The expectations didn’t seem to bother Warren County, as Shunsuke Nakashima and Thomas Locke won the doubles tournament and Seth Grissom won the singles portion to give the Pioneers back-to-back District 6-AAA tournament victories.Last season, District 6-AAA held two different tournaments for regional qualifying. One was an individual tournament, where teams nominated their top-seeded players to play in either singles or doubles.
