The WCHS boys basketball team will be playing for its second straight district tournament championship Tuesday night.

The Pioneers knocked off Cookeville on Saturday, 50-39, to earn a return trip to the tournament finals.

Last year the Pioneers beat White County in Sparta to win the district tournament. On Tuesday, White County will once again be the opponent, but the game will be played at the friendly confines of Charlie Dalton Gym. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.

Warren County and White County split their two games during the regular season with each team winning on the other team's home court.

The Lady Pioneers didn't fare as well Saturday against Cookeville. Playing the No. 1 seeded Lady Cavs in Cookeville, Warren County suffered a 68-42 loss.

The WCHS girls will play in the district tournament consolation game Monday night. That game will take place against White County in Sparta.

Regardless of their district tournament results, both WCHS teams have earned berths in the region tournament. The district tournament will determine region seeding as the No. 1 team from one district will play the No. 4 team from another.
