The offensive fireworks were on full display Tuesday night when NHC took on Gary Steele Karate in the championship game of the boys 5-6 T-ball league.NHC won the slugfest 29-19 to claim the tournament title on Jim Mansfield Field.Though offense was easy to come by for both teams, it was the defense of NHC that helped the team earn the victory.NHC held Gary Steele Karate scoreless in the second and fourth innings, a rare feat in the T-ball league.Shutting out Gary Steele Karate twice helped NHC build an insurmountable lead and win the championship.Gary Steele Karate began the game with seven runs, led by an inside-the-park grand slam by Luke Judkins and RBI single by Kenyai Bryan.NHC rallied back with nine runs in the bottom of the first as all 10 batters reached base safely. Tristan Myers capped the inning with a three-run triple to give NHC a 9-7 lead.The middle of the infield for NHC started putting the clamps on the Gary Steele Karate offense in the second inning. Kenyon Reno was a one-man wrecking crew at shortstop as he fielded two ground balls and forced out runners at second base.After holding Gary Steele Karate without a run, NHC started to build its lead in the bottom of the second.
