Morrison girls close out season with win

Morrison Lady Eagle Brienne Kelsey repeats a familiar role of bringing the ball in play during the 5-6 grade basketball season.
The Morrison Lady Eagles traveled to Dibrell on Tuesday night to conclude 5-6 grade basketball regular season play. Using their ability to press their opponent’s offense into submission and distributing the basketball, the Lady Eagles won, 35-11.Jumping to a 13-3 halftime lead, the Lady Eagles went on to sew it up with two more double digit quarters.Morrison’s offense was led by Jessica Alvarez with a game-high 11 points followed by Jenna Newby who hit for 6 points.Dibrell had difficulty getting its offense going and Cirerra Arellano scored 3 points and Sara Davis, Emily Davis, Anabella Calwell and Emily Cantrell all had 2 points apiece.Morrison’s Lady Eagles play Irving College in the postseason tournament Friday, Dec. 9 at 4:30 p.m.Dibrell will face Centertown, Monday, Dec. 12 at 4:30 p.m. Games are being played at Irving College.
