Micah Fleming was part of Dr Pepper’s championship team in Morrison last year. Morrison Ruritan officials have targeted July 6 as an opening date this summer.

Morrison Ruritan has set July 6 as the opening date for its softball seasons at Morrison Ballpark.

According to a post on the organization’s Facebook page, “The Ruritan has full intentions on playing softball this year; however, we will wait to make sure that the governor lifts all restrictions.”

The current plan is as follows, according to the online post:

• As soon as restrictions are lifted, there will be one additional registration.

• Promptly after that there will be a draft.

• Games will begin July 6.

• Games will be played Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Morrison Ruritan’s goal is to follow all federal and state guidelines. If you have already registered your child and would like a refund, that refund will be granted. Please text John Duncan at (931) 205-7835 with your child’s name and the league in which they are registered.

“The health and safety of our community is our No. 1 goal,” said the Morrison Ruritan post. “We look forward to being able to provide activities for our youth during these summer months.”
