Locke competes in state meet

Senior Christian Locke participated in the TSSAA state championship Saturday in Nashville. Locke placed 66th while improving his overall time by over a minute from last year.
Christian Locke sprinted for the finish line for the last time Saturday.Locke took part in the TSSAA state championship cross country race in Nashville, placing 66th out of 197 runners.The senior, who qualified with a second-place finish in a region event in late October, finished the 5K course at Steeplechase in 17 minutes, 33 seconds. Senior Titus Winders won the event with a time of 15:27, narrowly edging out his brother Silas Winders (15:41) for the victory.“Christian’s performance this season has been exceptional,” said Warren County cross country coach Carol Keener. “He stepped up and led our team this season.”Taking the ribbon is always the goal for each runner, but Locke was pleased to show huge improvement in his second run in the state competition.
