The Lady Pioneers defended the house with overwhelming force Monday night, taking the Siegel Lady Stars to school and handing them their walking papers, 65-28.It was Warren County’s stand-up D that really stood out as going to the full-court press early and defending the paint kept the Lady Stars reeling from the first quarter to the fourth.“This is the first game where we showed up in all four quarters,” said Lady Pioneer coach Shea Panter. “Also we were thinking about the loss to Coffee County the week before and had time to mull it over. We played with intensity and it was a good, complete game.”The Lady Pioneer defense was so effective, Siegel’s only scores for the first six minutes of the ballgame came from the free-throw line, as the Lady Pioneers jumped out to a 9-5 head start, then a 16-7 first quarter lead.
