Lady Pioneers make short work of White County

WCMS Lady Pioneer Savanna Duggin splits the White County defense on eighth-grade night Thursday. The Lady Pioneers made sure the night was brief as the game was stopped by the mercy rule with the score 9-0. The dominating win wraps up the regular season for the Lady Pioneers, who posted a 9-1 record. They now look forward to beginning the quest for a second consecutive CTC Tournament championship.
One of the most memorable nights for a middle schooler is eighth-grade night.For the WCMS girls soccer team, it was just that on Thursday as the Lady Pioneers faced White County in McMinnville. The game was over quickly as the Lady Pioneers tacked on six goals in the first half en route to a 9-0 mercy rule win over White County.“It was important to come back strong,” said WCMS coach Matt Walker after the Lady Pioneers suffered their first loss Wednesday night in Tullahoma. “I think we played extremely well.”Natilee Stepien started the Lady Pioneers out ahead quickly by scoring in the first minute.
