One of the stated goals of the Warren County High School softball team was to finish in the top two in the regular season of District 6-AAA. Coach David Upton and his Lady Pioneers accomplished their goal, but not how they would have liked.Warren County backed its way into the No. 2 seed for the District 6-AAA tournament, as the Lady Pioneers lost their regular season finale to White County 2-1.The Lady Pioneers had two chances to clinch the No. 2 seed outright, but failed to do so when they lost last week to Cookeville and again Wednesday to the Warriorettes.Warren County (18-13) had its chances, but ultimately a lack of clutch hitting and untimely errors came back to doom the Lady Pioneers.Junior Gabi Keith pitched a complete game for Warren County, striking out eight and allowing just four hits.
Lady Pioneers lose
