A slow start led to a strong finish as the Warren County High School girls soccer team slammed the Ooltewah Lady Owls 5-0 Thursday. With pep rallies and parades grabbing much of the attention Thursday, it seemed like the Lady Pioneers weren’t ready for an early afternoon match with the Lady Owls. Warren County took a 1-0 lead into halftime, courtesy of a goal from senior Morgan McCormick, but coach Todd Willmore believed the Lady Pioneers didn’t start showing their potential until the final 40 minutes.“We started with a complete lack of effort and were very lethargic throughout the first half,” said Willmore.
