The Boyd Lady Broncos picked up their 21st win of the season on the road Tuesday, using 20 points from Lia Wright to beat Franklin Road Christian Academy, 55-40.

Boyd’s only two losses this year came during a Christmas tournament where the Lady Broncos were without two starters.

Boyd was able to win Tuesday without its usual offensive explosion in the first half. But 10 points from Wright and a stifling defense allowed Boyd to hold a 22-9 lead at the break.

Both teams picked it up offensively in the second half and Franklin Road Christian got hot from 3-point range to keep Boyd from pulling away.

Audrey Durham scored 8 second-half points for Boyd on her way to 12 for the game. Wright was 6-of-6 from the foul line in the second half to ensure Boyd maintained a comfortable lead.
