Lady Broncos dealt tough loss by Middle Tennessee Christian

The Boyd Lady Bronco softball team was back in action Tuesday night, playing their second game of the season, at home against Middle Tennessee Christian School. The Lady Broncos ultimately lost the game in a blowout to MTCS, 25-8. With the loss the Lady Bronco record fell to 1-1 on the season.
The Lady Broncos were missing their ace on the mound, Erin Hollis, after she suffered a season-ending injury Monday night in practice.
The Lady Broncos only managed one hit in the loss. MTCS put up six runs in the top of the first inning thanks to timely hitting and errors by the Lady Broncos, 6-0.
After the Lady Broncos managed to not cut into the MTCS lead in the bottom of the inning, the Lady Cougars made them pay. The Lady Cougars added seven more runs to their lead in the top of the second, courtesy of more Lady Broncos miscues, 13-0.
The Lady Bronco bats were still cold as ice in the bottom of the inning, as they went down in order. The Lady Cougars scored three more runs to their lead, 16-0, in the top of the third.
The Lady Broncos answered with six runs of their own in the bottom of the inning, to finally get the goose egg off the board, 16-6, after three.
The Lady Cougars tacked on nine more runs in the final two innings of play and the Lady Broncos managed to put up only two, to ultimately lose, 25-8. The Lady Broncos next game will be determined at a later date.
