Time is running out on teams trying to knock off Kalco in the 7-8 boys coach-pitch league. The undisputed top team in the league is 9-0 and just a win away from a perfect run in the regular season.
Kalco picked up its latest win Tuesday, beating Solomon Consulting Services 19-11. M&J Logging followed with a 15-4 victory over SMG, while Triple C Nursery had a 12-0 blanking of TH&W CPAs in the nightcap.
Kalco’s offensive excellence was on full display Tuesday. The group busted out for seven runs in the first inning and had another seven-run outburst in the fourth to outlast Solomon’s. Hitting was contagious for the league leaders as Owen Young reached base in all three of his trips to the plate, as did Aidan Reilley and Aiden Johnson.
Colton Butey, Branson Pack, Hudson Pack, Eli Sherrard, Kohen Skinner and Brayden Bruce all were on base twice during the merry-go-round of scoring for Kalco.
It was a similar way of winning for M&J Logging as they chopped down SMG in three innings.
Hagan Scruggs and Peyton Stephens led the way, slamming three hits each as M&J got an important fourth victory while tying SMG in the standings at third. Both teams have 4-4 records as the season reaches the home stretch.
Triple C Nursery finished the night by celebrating its second win this season. Beckett Butler was the big bat for the nurserymen, teeing off for three hits in the heart of the lineup. Hudson Dunn and Nash Dearth had two hits and scored twice in the blowout too.
