A spirited effort by the Warren County High School boys basketball team fell short Saturday night as the Pioneers concluded their year with a loss in the District 6-AAA tournament.A season-high 17 points from senior D’Andre League wasn’t enough as Warren County fell 75-66 to the Cumberland County Jets in the opening round held at Cookeville High School.Senior Trace Taylor and freshman Tyler Beaty scored 13 points each in the contest, but the Jets erased a four-point halftime deficit behind Logan Parsons to defeat the Pioneers for the third time this season. Parsons scored 28 of his game-high 34 points in the second half as Cumberland County advanced to the semifinals, where it lost 68-57 to Cookeville Monday night. Coach John Dillard, who saw his team finish 7-23 in his first season with the Pioneers, thought his team’s performance in the last game was hopefully a preview of things to come.“I was very proud of the effort of our kids Saturday.
