Playing alongside three seniors who have already signed college scholarships, Lady Pioneer senior third baseman Sarah Jacobs can oftentimes be overlooked. Being generously listed at 5-foot-5 doesn’t help matters. But the small senior came up with the biggest plays in each of the Warren County High School softball team’s two victories Friday night in The Duff tournament held in Cookeville.Jacobs turned an unassisted double play in the fifth inning to help preserve a 5-3 victory over Red Boiling Springs, then hit a go-ahead home run against Chattanooga Christian as the Lady Pioneers won 6-3.After dropping to 8-12 with a 10-run loss to White County April 11, Warren County has won eight of its last 11 games.Jacobs has been an integral part of the Lady Pioneers’ resurgence. Coach David Upton moved Jacobs up in the order and the senior has thrived. In two games Friday, Jacobs finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs.
