Holder Realty closes deal against Dr Pepper

In youth league softball action at Centertown Recreation Park on Thursday night, Holder Realty faced Dr Pepper.
Dr Pepper held the lead going into the bottom half of the final inning, but didn’t hold on as Holder Realty stormed back to win in thrilling fashion, 13-12.
Olivia Hamby led the way for Holder Realty, going 5-for-5 with five singles. Baylor Nisbett added four hits, while Sable Winfree added three and Emma Miller and Shelby Miller added two hits apiece.
Dr Pepper was led by Emma Dillon, who had three hits, including an inside-the-park home run. Ciara Johnson, Devin Blair, Lily Smith and Shaun Galloway added two hits apiece, while Madison Burks, Melina Shockley and Tayden Rains added one.
Dr Pepper scored five runs quickly in the top of the first thanks to five RBI singles to take the early lead, 5-0.
Holder Realty trimmed the deficit to two in the bottom of the inning thanks to Miller’s 3-RBI double to the outfield, 5-3, after one.
Dr Pepper managed to extend the lead to three in the top of the second courtesy of an inside-the-park home run by Dillon, 6-3.
Holder Realty inched close to Dr Pepper in the bottom of the inning cutting the lead to one thanks to a 2-RBI single by Lex Winfree, 6-5.
After Dr Pepper scored a run in the top of the third, Holder Realty tied the game in the bottom of the inning courtesy of Nisbett’s 2-RBI triple, 7-7, after three.
Dr Pepper finally got the bats going again in the top of the fourth, scoring four runs in the inning thanks to a Galloway 3-RBI triple and an RBI single, 11-7.
Holder Realty scored three runs in the bottom of the inning after an RBI single and Nisbett came up again and smacked another 2-RBI triple, to keep the game close going into the final inning of play, 11-10, after four.
Dr Pepper scored a run in the top of the fifth to extend its lead to two, 12-10, with Holder Realty down to its final at-bat.
After Holder Realty scored a run to make it a one-run game, Emma Miller came up with two runners on base and knocked them in to win the game with a 2-RBI double.
