The most shocking part of Monday’s games in the 11-12 boys senior league was all the balls stayed in the park for once.In a league dominated by home runs, it was solid pitching that led Hall’s Backhoe and Dream Builders to victories.Cole Estes pitched a complete-game, two-hitter as Hall’s Backhoe defeated Pioneer Pediatrics 5-1. In the second game, Keaton Welch went the distance for Dream Builders in a 10-4 victory over Brent’s Computers.Estes was dominant on the mound and provided most of the fireworks at the plate as Hall’s Backhoe improved to 5-4.Estes finished with nine strikeouts and the lone run he allowed came in the fifth inning after Hall’s already led 3-0.After allowing an RBI double to Trevor Collins in the top of the fifth, Estes got the run back on his own in the bottom of the inning.Estes hit a two-run, inside-the-park home run to make it 5-1. An RBI single by Caleb Newby provided for the final score as Estes had little trouble closing down the game in the sixth.Estes finished with two hits, tying him for the team lead with Newby, Wesley Rowland and Lane Jones.
