Gary Steele Karate jumped to an early 2-0 lead after one as Nate Newby and Kendall Patrick both crossed home before Barr’s retired the side.Barr’s Furniture’s William Gillespie fought for one run in their first at-bats, and Barr’s was able to fend off Gary Steele Karate keeping the score 2-1 in the top of the second, gaining the advantage after Justin Turner and Alec Johnson both scored for a 3-2 Barr’s lead.In some back-and-forth play, Gary Steele Karate’s Taylor Smith knotted the game 3-3 and the game stayed static with neither team scoring in the fourth or fifth innings. It would be Gary Steele Karate’s Will Wrisner who made the winning run in the top of the sixth as Barr’s Furniture had hits by Dominique Kirby, Alec Johnson and Conner Nunley to put runners in play, but Gary Steele Karate’s Taylor Smith held his ground on the mound and the karate defense put the game to rest. With the win, Gary Steele Karate remains atop their league standings with an undefeated record.
