The Pioneers called the perfect play at the prefect time.Lee Carden had snuck behind the Cookeville defense and Warren County High School quarterback Hunter Mullican spotted him near the endzone. Mullican lofted a pretty pass, one that was in Carden’s hands in stride for what looked to be a go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter.Instead, the ball slipped through Carden’s fingers and the chances of a Warren County win slipped through as well. After the failed scoring attempt, the Pioneers turned the ball over on downs and had turnovers on their next two possessions as Cookeville went on to win 33-15 at Nunley Stadium Friday night.Warren County (0-3) held two leads in the first half over the Cavaliers after short touchdown runs by Cameron Lusk and Tristan Reish.
