Ethan Smith tries to make it back to second base during the Pioneers scrimmage against the Red Raiders on Monday evening. Smith and the Pioneers look to improve next season with several key players returning to the lineup.
The Warren County High School baseball team, coming off of a 14-21 season plagued by numerous injuries and lack of depth on the roster, looks good so far this summer. Returning are key starters from a year ago, junior Taisei Yasunaga, junior Cole Estes, senior Colby Elkins, sophomore Brooks Helton, along with several other key contributors for the Pioneers.Matt Savage, Jake Pennington and Will Lupo were the lone seniors who graduated from the team. This year the Pioneers have a total of eight seniors, which is a lot of experience coming back.
