Frye signs with Motlow State

Morgan Frye became the fourth Lady Pioneer senior softball player to sign a college scholarship as she pledged to play for the Motlow Lady Bucks during a signing ceremony Monday at Warren County High School.Frye joins teammates Gabi Keith and Taylor Grissom as signees in the 2012 class for Motlow, while senior shortstop Lauren Wilkinson will be continuing her career with Carson Newman University next season.Frye was all smiles Monday as her family and teammates gathered in the WCHS auditorium to watch the official signing. Also on hand were Frye’s current coach David Upton and future coach Tori Gentry.Amid all the excitement of continuing her softball career, Frye had time to reflect on the hard work over the past 14 years that got the senior catcher to this point.“I’ve waited for this day and I’m so ready to be a Lady Buck,” said Frye. “All those years of putting in my blood, sweat and tears into every practice and game finally paid off.”Frye recalls starting her softball career at the age of 4.
