Eastside Market wins T-ball title Championship game sees 89 runs scored

The girls 5-6 T-ball league tournament featured several marathon games with high scores. The championship game was no different as Eastside Market and Pioneer played over two hours and nearly reached 100 runs.In the end, it was Eastside Market prevailing 47-42 Friday night at Jim Mansfield Field in a game that went into the final inning tied.Scoring was mandatory, but defense was optional when Eastside Market and Pioneer took the field to settle the T-ball championship.With rules in place to limit teams from scoring more than eight runs an inning, Eastside Market was one run away from the maximum it could score in a six-inning contest. And the team needed every run it could get to beat Pioneer.Getting production from every member of the team, Eastside Market scored seven runs in the first, then eight runs the final five innings to prevail.Eastside Market started the game at the plate and Kora Forbes provided the first runs with a two-run double to score Grace Young and Jaylynn Jordan.
