A flurry of buckets from Trinity Reynolds helped Warren County get back in the game Tuesday at home, but ultimately the Lady Pioneers couldn't complete a comeback against Spring Hill. Warren County fell 54-51 in the District 9-4A matchup with the Raiders, dropping to 0-2 in district play and 3-14 overall.
Reynolds helped the Lady Pioneers dig out of a double-digit hole late in the third. She scored eight points in a span of a minute, hitting two triples adding in a sweet floater along the way. The second 3-pointer, launched wide open on the left wing, came right before the buzzer and completed a 14-0 run that pushed Warren County up 41-38.
The Lady Pioneers continued to lead early in the fourth, spurred on a by a big 3-pointer from Bri Taylor that gave Warren County a 46-42 cushion with six minutes to go.
Reynolds would keep the Raiders at way a minute later with a layup, but Spring Hill started to seize control once Warren County's offense sputtered.
Two missed free throws - followed by back-to-back turnovers - were costly once the Raiders started running offensively. Spring Hill sprinted for a breakaway layup to make it a one-point game, then had a perfect design out of a timeout for a 3-pointer that gave the Raiders the lead.
Another run-out layup made it a four-point deficit for the Lady Pioneers in the final minutes, but senior Miranda Medley stopped the drought with a free throw with 55.2 seconds to play.
Maci McBride followed with a steal and layup to slice the deficit to 52-51, but it would be the closest Warren County would get.
Both Medley and Reynolds had late 3-pointers that could've won the game for Warren County, but each missed the mark as Spring Hill held on in the final seconds.
