KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee is looking into a potential renovation of Neyland Stadium.
The school announced Thursday it has partnered with Populous "to conduct a comprehensive renovation plan and feasibility study." Athletic director Dave Hart said in a statement "this process is a critical step in determining the appropriate vision and supporting business model for a significant renovation."
The study will evaluate upgrades to the south and east sides of the stadium, which has a capacity of 102,455. Improvements could include widening concourses, expanding rest rooms and upgrading concession areas. Populous also will study other enhancements, such as technological improvements.
The project includes a facility assessment, market feasibility study, conceptual designs, cost estimates and a funding analysis.
Populous recently completed architectural and design services for stadiums at Texas A&M, Baylor, Oklahoma and Minnesota.
