WCHS head coach Adam Childs received an honorary blue bat for his 100th win as a Pioneer earlier this month. Childs has been dismissed as baseball coach.
Warren County High School baseball coach Adam Childs, who led the team to two 20-win seasons in his six years in McMinnville, with this year’s 20-win regular season being the first for the Pioneers in over 24 years, has been relieved of his duties.Warren County High School executive principal Jimmy Walker released a statement about coach Childs and his dismissal.“Warren County High School would like to thank Adam Childs for his service to our baseball program,” said Walker in his press release. “However, the decision has been made to move in a different direction with the baseball program. Warren County High School plans to move expeditiously in filling the position of head baseball coach, but will also be patient to ensure the right candidate is found.”Further elaboration about any specific reasons coach Childs was let go have not been released.Coach Childs has been at the helm of Pioneer baseball since being recruited by fellow Indiana resident and former Warren County High School principal Tony Cassel in 2012.
